WSAA’s Community of Practice for Potentially Explosive Atmospheres in Sewers met in June to discuss the implementation of the Guidelines for Potentially Explosive Atmospheres, published in 2023.
These guidelines are available for reference here.
During the meeting, we were privileged to hear insights and lessons from water agencies that have begun integrating these guidelines into their operations. Key presentations were delivered by representatives from Yarra Valley Water, Urban Utilities, and Stantec.
We discussed planning and communicating implementation works, integration of the risk framework in the guidelines with organisational risk requirements, assessment of sites using the guidelines and automation of the assessment for a larger number of sites.
