The US-based Water Environment & Reuse Foundation (WE&RF) and the Water Research Foundation (WRF) have announced their intention to integrate into one organisation, The Water Research Foundation (TWRF), from 1 January 2018.

The integration of the two organisations is a reflection of the increasing integration of the water cycle and its research, providing a stronger, more efficient and interconnected research agenda that provides greater value to its members.

WE&RF and WRF note that ‘the new organisation will provide a unified source for One Water research and serve as a model for collaboration across the water industry’.

Through their WSAA membership, large WSAA utility members can currently access to both WRF and WERF and will continue to have access to TWRF.  For the remainder of this financial year, WSAA will provide access to all members of WSAA publicly owned utilities as we review and refine our innovation program. For access to WRF and WE&RF, please contact Karen Campisano or Kevin He.

The Water Environment and Reuse Foundation (WE&RF) is a US-based not-for-profit organisation that is recognised globally as a trusted source of innovation and peer-reviewed research in wastewater, water reuse and resource recovery.

The Water Research Foundation (WRF) is also a US-based not-for-profit organisation that delivers scientifically sound research solutions and knowledge in the areas of drinking water, wastewater, stormwater and reuse.

More information on the integration can be found in the media release.
