This appraisal is for BOSSPIPE centrifugally cast (CC) GRP pipes and fittings for non-pressure sewerage applications. This Issue 2 is a replacement for the previous version of the appraisal which had reached its 5-year expiry date. It also aligns withs WS PS 219 which now calls up ISO 23856:2021.
The pipes are offered with nominal sizes ranging from DN 350 to DN 2400 with a nominal pressure class ranging from PN1 to PN25 and standard stiffness ratings of SN 5000, SN10000, SN15000 and SN 20000. Pipes with less than SN10000 stiffness are not recommended for buried applications while pipes with SN20000 rating are recommended for deep trench and poor soil applications.
The pipes are designated as Series B, based on the external diameter of the pipe. Pipes from DN 350 to DN 450 pipes are offered with spigot outside diameters complying with ISO 23856 Series B2 and DN 500 to DN 2400 pipes with spigot outside diameters complying with ISO 23856 Series B1. The external diameters do not align with Australian Standard DIOD pipe sizes.
Pipes are joined using GRP filament wound flexible non-end-load-bearing couplings with an integral full width EPDM elastomeric seal.
The BOSSPIPE pipes can be supplied in 1m, 2m, 3m or 6m lengths with intermediate pipe lengths available upon request.
