This Appraisal is for a range of PN16 wide tolerance restrained joint couplings and flanged adapters in sizes DN 50 to DN 300 and end caps in sizes DN 80 to DN 100. This Issue 5 is a replacement for the previous version of the appraisal which had reached its 5-year expiry date.
The patented Hawle Synoflex socket is a restrained joint intended for coupling various pipe materials including DI, AC, CI, PE and steel with a wide range of outside diameters. The design of the socket consists of an elastomeric seal with an engineering thermoplastic, polyoxymethylene (POM) ring, incorporating Grade 316 locking segments. Sealing is accomplished by tightening a number of Grade 316 stainless steel fasteners to engage the ductile iron locking ring onto the socket.
Flanges incorporated on the fittings are compatible with AS4087 Fig B5 (PN16) or AS 2129 Table D dimensions.
