WSAA has submitted detailed feedback on the Queensland End of Waste (EOW) Code for Biochar, highlighting key concerns and recommendations.
Our final submission on the 28th of June 2024 followed an initial response provided on the 5 October 2023. WSAA has coordinated the response with the work of Queensland Water Directorate (qldwater) . We welcome the initial changes and enhancements that have been made from the initial draft. Our aim is to support ongoing consultation with the Queensland Department of Environment, Science and Innovation (DESI) for robust, practical, and scientifically sound regulations, fostering sustainable biosolid-derived biochar production and use while balancing environmental protection and economic viability.
