On 1 July 2016 WSAA's new Committee structure commenced. The structure was reviewed earlier this year in line with assessing strategic priorities that position the urban water industry for current and future challenges.
The direction of the UK water industry has been a significant watching brief for the Australian water industry in recent years. Although privatised, we have a lot in common: vertical integration, independent economic regulation, and a strong focus on health and environment outcomes.
The urban water industry is maturing and while asset management and people and culture are still critical and relevant to utilities, the challenges on the horizon will require all parts of utility businesses to work at their optimum. To best meet these challenges and to focus on WSAA’s strategic priorities, we introduce the new Utility Excellence Committee (UEC), which will cover all internal business levers that water utilities have direct control over.
